Desktop & Android Material 3 implementation

I’m just trying to get started with my project. The platforms I’m targeting are Desktop, Android, Server. I’d like to use material 3 components across both Desktop & Android. I have no idea how to setup the gradle files. Every variation I try displays the same demo icon as it did before.

import org.jetbrains.compose.desktop.application.dsl.TargetFormat
import org.jetbrains.kotlin.gradle.ExperimentalKotlinGradlePluginApi
import org.jetbrains.kotlin.gradle.dsl.JvmTarget

    alias(libs.plugins.kotlinMultiplatform)
    alias(libs.plugins.androidApplication)
    alias(libs.plugins.jetbrainsCompose)
    alias(libs.plugins.compose.compiler)
}

kotlin {
    androidTarget {
        @OptIn(ExperimentalKotlinGradlePluginApi::class)
        compilerOptions {
            jvmTarget.set(JvmTarget.JVM_11)
        }
    }

    jvm("desktop")

    sourceSets {
        val desktopMain by getting

        androidMain.dependencies {
            implementation(compose.preview)
            implementation(libs.androidx.activity.compose)
        }
        commonMain.dependencies {
            implementation(compose.runtime)
            implementation(compose.foundation)
            implementation(compose.material)

            implementation(compose.desktop.currentOs)
            implementation(libs.material3.desktop)
            implementation(compose.materialIconsExtended)
        }
    }
}

        }
    }
    compileOptions {
        sourceCompatibility = JavaVersion.VERSION_11
        targetCompatibility = JavaVersion.VERSION_11
    }
    buildFeatures {
        compose = true
    }
    dependencies {
        debugImplementation(compose.uiTooling)
    }
}

compose.desktop {
    application {
        mainClass = "MainKt"

        nativeDistributions {
            targetFormats(TargetFormat.Dmg, TargetFormat.Msi, TargetFormat.Deb)
            packageName = "com.altecmechanical"
            packageVersion = "1.0.0"
        }
    }
}

Current state of my build.gradle.kts (composeApp) file. How do I go about having success using material 3 components across Desktop & Android?

Current look of the starter code which seems to have identical look as before on the button:

Based on this graphic:

Taken from : material3 - How to use Material 3 Theme and Components in Compose Desktop? - Stack Overflow

It should be showing differently. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
