The issue of improving the default Kotlin REPL

I reemphasise the importance of having a competent REPL with the default Kotlin installation.
The current one lacks important features such as code completion, that all the other REPLs of competent languages have.
Why the Kotlin team does not fill this gap by using the excellent REPL of the project:

KI does have code completion.
